Our team includes experienced specialists in neurology, neurophysiology, sleep medicine, and related clinical disciplines. Each study is performed with precision and reviewed with clinical oversight to support accurate diagnosis and effective treatment planning.
Dr. Smith is a Former Consultant at Mayo Clinic Scottsdale and Board Member of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He is also a Professor of Neurology at Mayo Clinic College of Medicine. Dr. Smith brings over 30 years of leadership from Mayo Clinic and is internationally recognized for his expertise in EMG, neuromuscular disease, and peripheral neuropathy. With more than 50 peer-reviewed publications and 15 textbook chapters, he continues to shape the field of electrodiagnostic medicine. His specialties include ALS, CIDP, small fiber neuropathy, and complex neuromuscular disorders.
Dr. Shije is Fellowship-Trained at Columbia University and Barrow Neurological Institute. He is a Former Section Chief at the University of New Mexico and Former Fellowship Director at UVA. Dr. Shije is a nationally recognized leader in neuropathic pain, hereditary and inflammatory neuropathies, and transthyretin amyloidosis. He has served in leadership roles at top academic centers and leads several neuromuscular clinical trials. His specialties include CIDP, carpal tunnel syndrome, hereditary neuropathies, and small fiber neuropathy.
Dr. Hlubocky is a Fulbright Scholar who trained at Mayo Clinic under Dr. Benn Smith. He trained in both Europe and the U.S. and brings a global perspective and precise approach to EMG, plexopathies, and small fiber neuropathy evaluation. His Mayo Clinic fellowship ensures continuity in excellence and clinical accuracy. Dr. Hlubocky is board-certified in Neurology, Clinical Neurophysiology, and Neuromuscular Medicine. His specialties include EMG, radiculopathy, plexopathy, and peripheral neuropathy.
Dr. Estephan is Fellowship-Trained in Epilepsy and was a Top 10% National Scorer on the ABEM Exam. He is a fellowship-trained neurologist specializing in epilepsy and EEG interpretation. His deep understanding of neurophysiology and commitment to accuracy make him a trusted partner in diagnosing complex neurological disorders. His specialties include EEG (seizure disorders) and EMG (peripheral neuropathy, radiculopathy).
Dr. Baldridge brings over 25 years of experience in primary care and sleep medicine with a focus on complex cases and advanced diagnostics. He is known for his warm bedside manner and leads the clinical team in optimizing sleep outcomes. His specialties include sleep apnea and complex sleep disorders.
Dr. Arpino is a sleep specialist with a practical, effective approach to sleep medicine. He is dedicated to helping patients improve their quality of life through accurate diagnosis and evidence-based treatment. His specialties include obstructive sleep apnea, CPAP compliance, and daytime fatigue.
Cecilia Hallare provides compassionate, results-focused care for patients with sleep disorders. Known for her approachable style and strong communication, she focuses on empowering patients through personalized treatment plans. Her specialties include sleep apnea, patient education and coaching.
Dr. Ariss is a leading expert in balance disorders and vestibular diagnostics. She has trained hundreds of techs across the country and continues to push standards forward in audiology and VNG testing. Her specialties include VNG interpretation, audiology education, and balance disorders.
NeuroDiagnostic Laboratories (NDL) at its core began offering neurology diagnostics in an out-patient setting, circa 2002, for the specialists and practitioners who needed them most. The philosophy of NDL was to streamline a procedure from every aspect to the administration, referring physician, and patient. What NDL had concluded was when physicians and patients fail to receive a medically necessary diagnostic study in an efficient timeframe, as well as accurate and concise results, the outcome of the study held less and less value. While in certain cases our diagnostic procedures are no doubt stand alone modalities, it’s the cases that give the referring physicians a new window or different perspective where our value is really recognized. From the inception, NDL has acknowledged the benefit of the neurology consultation in giving direction to the treatment of patients and therefore NDL is pleased to provide them when requested. For the practitioners requesting neurology management, while not provided by NDL, management can be arranged and facilitated through the most qualified and closest proximity neurologist for the patients given situation.
Presently, NDL operates several clinics in the Metro Phoenix area. NDL is in the process of offering additional services to encompass the world of neurophysiology studies. The physicians on staff with NDL are respectively some of the best in their field and since the majority of neurophysiology diagnostics are physician driven, NDL physicians are involved in every aspect to the performance, direction, and interpretation of the procedures. There is a constant development into the techniques and protocol that further our knowledge into the endless endeavor of neurophysiology.
The plans for the future of NDL are to continually build on our relationships with the neurology community and provide critical insight into the direction of patient care. We hope to collaborate on more and more research projects such as helping understand a disease process through our neurophysiology modalities, aggregating data on a specific diagnosis that impacts our society, and monitoring the efficacy and resolve of various treatments.
